Tomorrow (Wednesday 8/31) is the last day to register for our fall AFLA conference at the regular registration rate of $190.00. The price increases to $215 on September 1. A $65 discount is available to first year teachers and interns; request the code from firstname.lastname@example.org

Four out-of-state presenters will join our in-state presenters for an impactful weekend of learning:
- Linda Egnatz – former national Language Teacher of the Year; will be discussing “what is proficiency?” and which instructional practices result in proficiency gains
- Tove Dahl – from Concordia Language Villages and PhD at University of the Arctic in Norway; will be speaking on what research tells us about interest and engagement and how to apply that to our classes
- Darcy Rogers – of Organic World Languages, a teaching method that provides instruction 100% in the target language and is very kinesthetic and student-driven
- Scott Benedict – of Teach for June; will be leading three separate sessions on classroom management, using music and reading, and assessment
There will be many opportunities to network with teachers from across the state and to discuss how we can best advocate for our programs. We will also be honoring our 2016 AFLA award winners!
